Another Sad Loss Coming

Sunday, June 01, 2014

A few of you will remember when just over 2 years ago I wrote of losing one of my dear friends, Karen. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in early February and didn't live even the 6 weeks the dr's predicted. It was very hard to say goodbye to someone who had been so vital and so suddenly wasn't but it was a relief to see an end to her suffering.
Now, her husband who just turned 70 has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given just a few months. In December he was doing great, running a chain saw and cutting down trees for folks in our community. Now he is so weak he could not even lift his suitcase when returning from Massachusetts. He returned to get his affairs in order.
Yesterday we watched his daughter who lives in Florida and her DH loading items in their truck that he was giving them. Among the items was the above mentioned chain saw. He realizes he is not able to do anything any more.
He has made it known that he is ready to go to be with Karen but it still isn't easy to say goodbye once again to a dear friend.
This is another reminder that tomorrow is not promised to any of us so make the most of each day. It is God's gift to us. Make sure to tell your friends and family what is in your heart. Don't wait, do it today.
Dear Spark friends all of you are special to me and this isn't meant to be a downer but to make sure each make the most of each and every day. Smile, do a good deed, be the best you can be. No regrets folks. Be happy and live your life to the fullest.

We get so busy living life here...we sometimes fail to keep the big picture in mind...that we are only here to do all we can to Go Home to the Real One! It is hard to know those we care about have reached their point in this journey. God bestowed upon us such love, care and friendship that it hurts to have to observe and let go and let God!
My thoughts and prayers are with him and you! Oh the Joy he will know with the Lord and his Loved Ones!

A gentle reminder that life as we know it always changes and there are people who pass through our lives that are special beyond measure. Cherish those around you because we are not promised tomorrow. HUGS!

Prayers for your friend. My husband has Barrette's esophagus, it is a pre-cancerous condition, I agree with your thoughts in this blog. I have lost two Spark Friends that I know of.

My sister's father-in-law insisted on deeding property to her and her husband. He wasn't ill, but died the next day and they have had two friends drop dead of heart attacks. We don't know when it will be our time to go or how we will go. I believe we should leave behind good memories with our loved ones and friends.

You are a bright spot in my day and I appreciate your comments, poems and blogs. Thank you!

I am so sorry that you are having to go through this again. It is sad, but like you say, it is part of life!!!! We should remember every single day to tell our friends and loved ones how much they mean to us and how much we love them. Life is but a mere whisper in time!!!! Let us live it to the fullest and not forget that this precious life of ours is only lend to us!!!! God bless you, my friend, and remember that even though we have never met, you are a special part of my life!!!!

Prayers for your dear friend and his family and friends, you included. So sorry to hear this. I know how hard it is to lose our dear friends. I just found out on Friday that a dear friend of mine has a rare blood cancer and doesn't have long to live either. So sad as he has a twelve year old son.
I just want to say you are a very dear Spark friend to me and have meant a lot to me on my healthier lifestyle journey. Thank you so very much for that!!! When I see your name, a big smiles crosses my face!
I totally understand your blog especially the last two paragraphs for they are so very true!!!
Prayers, blessings, love and hugs, to a great friend,
