Another Sad Loss Coming
Sunday, June 01, 2014
A few of you will remember when just over 2 years ago I wrote of losing one of my dear friends, Karen. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in early February and didn't live even the 6 weeks the dr's predicted. It was very hard to say goodbye to someone who had been so vital and so suddenly wasn't but it was a relief to see an end to her suffering.
Now, her husband who just turned 70 has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given just a few months. In December he was doing great, running a chain saw and cutting down trees for folks in our community. Now he is so weak he could not even lift his suitcase when returning from Massachusetts. He returned to get his affairs in order.
Yesterday we watched his daughter who lives in Florida and her DH loading items in their truck that he was giving them. Among the items was the above mentioned chain saw. He realizes he is not able to do anything any more.
He has made it known that he is ready to go to be with Karen but it still isn't easy to say goodbye once again to a dear friend.
This is another reminder that tomorrow is not promised to any of us so make the most of each day. It is God's gift to us. Make sure to tell your friends and family what is in your heart. Don't wait, do it today.
Dear Spark friends all of you are special to me and this isn't meant to be a downer but to make sure each make the most of each and every day. Smile, do a good deed, be the best you can be. No regrets folks. Be happy and live your life to the fullest.
