running clinic!

Last night I joined a 5K running clinic at the Running Room, I can already run 5K, but I do it so slowly and I haven't been running regularly. I feel like paying for this clinic makes the commitment more serious and makes it more likely that I truly will go to the group run 3 times a week.

Also! When I run alone I don't really push myself. I'm the slowest runner in my new group, so I'll have to push myself to stay somewhat close to the group. Right now I'm not too far behind but I think they'll progress pretty fast. There are 7 people in the group and they're all former runners just getting back into running. And I think 5 of them have already done half marathons, so they're not at my level at all!

I'm optimistic!

    I have been slacking too, it is too hot to run races in Florida summers.
    To be honest I really do not feel like racing, but I will probably sign up for a couple of 5K's this fall.

    Good for you! I run slower on my own too. I'm more likely to push harder with others around.

    Running with others helped me increase speed and distance, though it was killer at first. Just keep pushing, and it will get easier!
