I just read a good article by Coach Dean Anderson, again, I have read it numerous times but it keeps reinforcing what I have learned from Spark People. Consistency! Consistency! Consistency! Is there a theme here?

The article is called " 3 Simple Ways to build Consistency" I am currently doing the Realistic Resolutions Challenge Day 10 Building Consistency.


When I started my healthy lifestyle journey the one thing I hated most of all was the expression "healthy lifestyle changes"! To me it felt like such a harsh criticism of me! I know, but I felt like I was being indicted, like my mother was in the room pointing her finger at me! Well, I finally got over that and by reading these great nutrition and fitness articles I started losing weight! Seriously!

A month later my sister, Thoms1, said to me, you know we should really start exercising! I turned to her and said sweat will never break this brow! Well, that good old Catholic guilt started in and I decided I had better see if I can walk to the end of the block. I did just barely. So the next day I told Becky, okay if you insist lets go for a walk. That was the real start to our healthy lifestyle changes! We had tiny bits of fitness! Like Spark Guy tells us 10 minutes at a time will do it. He is right!

Getting up each morning and repeating the successes of the day before helped reinforce all the good habits I learned from Sparkpeople. Good habits will see us through while motivation is not always reliable in my case!
