I am two weeks into a new journey. I have a couple of co-workers who are on the Profile by Sanford plan (basically a ketogenic diet with much medical backing), and I asked them about it. They had really good things to say so I considered it. Then I was a a conference and they were one of the many exhibitors there. My co-workers introduced me to his coach who was at the booth, and I put my name in a drawing for a free membership. I also decided to have a free consultation, no strings attached. When I went in for the consultation, I learned that I had won the free membership. So, I decided to commit to it. Yes, I am buying many of their food products for these first few weeks. However, I do get to use my own food for lunch and dinner. Also, I don't have a lot of weight to lose (15 pounds or so) so I am thinking that the transition to more of my own foods will happen sooner rather than later.
Here has what has surprised me. I haven't been as hungry as I thought I would be. Yes, I have had a few cravings and a few extras once in a while, but for the most part I have stuck to the plan. I have also discovered that I do not need to eat as much food as I have in the past. I have also managed to lose about 6 pounds so far. I know it will get harder as I move to more of my own foods, but my membership is for one year so I am committed for the year. After that, it's a much smaller membership fee so I am planning to stick with it so I don't have the re-gain that some people have.
