Back to Normal ... Just What Is That?!
Thursday, May 31, 2018
We have been going through some work on the house...you know, new flooring, moving some things around, installations, etc. It has meant trying to be somewhat normal with eating and exercising, but that didn't work out. No stove meant creative eating without using fast foods. Different forms of exercise, like moving furniture, clearing out closet floor areas before workers came and then putting it all back. Whew!!
Another normal this week was my check up with the endocrinologist. Good news on the lab work. A1c, thyroid and cholesterol were all good. But some concern about kidneys. Seems the medication I have been taking can effect the kidneys so I have been switched from that medication to another. Guess I will find a "new normal" with this medication.
I have gotten somewhat down with all of the crumby news over the last few months. So much pain done by people to other people. But all of this work going on in the house has brought in numerous people that have given me hope. They have been kind, hardworking and happy people. The young man so happy to be back to work and teaching his workers how to do new things. The family (2 sons, Mom and Dad) that laid the carpeting. What a joy to see them working so well together. The young men who have delivered some appliances that are so kind and happy. If I saw them on the street I might not realize how wonderful they are just based on their clothing, tattoos and earrings. But listening to one of them talk so lovingly about his Mom was a treat, since yesterday was our youngest son's birthday. Makes me hope he talks the same way about us.
So my "normal" has changed. The house is no longer exactly the way it was, but better. I know I am physically on the right track and will get better. And my attitude is no longer the same, but better. I guess normal means that parts of our life are in constant change and we choose if it will be better or worse for us.
Keep Sparking!
