Lesson from a bumble bee

I have been thinking about being more surrendered to what God has planned for me. Sometimes life does not give you what you want but it is usually what you need. The other day as I was driving to the library to pick up some books, I noticed a buzzing sound coming from the back window of my car. I saw a huge bumble bee in my mirror and tried to stay calm until I could stop to help it out. It came closer to the front seat but eventually settled in the crevice inside the door frame. I stopped the car and gingerly opened the door to let it out but instead of flying out, it tried to climb up the frame toward the roof of the car. It was not getting traction to move upward since the paint was a smooth surface and I thought "if it would just let go, it would easily be able to drop a little bit then fly off". I swatted it off the side of the car and it promptly flew away. As I thought about this whole scenario, I realized how much I am like that bumblebee. I try to cling to what I know and go in the direction I think I should go but if I just let go of my agenda, I could be free to fly where God wants to take me.
