Back and forth, up and down with the same 2 pounds. Although I’m not logging food/calories I have noticed this week that the up spikes come the day after eating out or store bought food. I had a small burger & fries at a local restaurant for lunch; scale jumped up 2 pounds. I brought home a small personal take & bake pizza from the local market; scale is back up another pound. I am wondering about salt content and possible water retention because I know nothing calorie-wise is causing the fluctuations and I don’t have any food allergies or sensitivities other than dairy which I mostly avoid in amounts or forms that cause me problems. I don’t usually add salt to what I make, but America seems to have a salt addiction catered to by restaurants and food companies, and it is in EVERYTHING.
On the positive side I’m now up to 6 miles running on the treadmill for my Sunday long runs. I will be running a marathon in exactly 9 months from today; At some point in March when I start training officially I will see how treadmill miles translate to outdoor miles.
ETA: I have also increased my fluid intake the last week +. Mostly hot or cold tea, plus my morning coffee. I’m not up to the 8 cups daily which seems to be the standard recommendation (and which I personally believe is just a number someone pulled from the air once upon a time), but I definitely drink more than I did previously (which was almost nothing except coffee in the am).
