Feb. 3, 2019 Back to work...

I find myself here, in this BLC 39, after a summer and fall with health issues that upset the eating/exercise activity in major ways. Perhaps, in hind sight I could have handled it all better, but that's with the benefit of hindsight, which is always 20/20. What I thought would be a very short lived malady, just wouldn't leave without some medical intervention. SO, back to work for me. I'm amazed at the speed at which weight is gained and fitness is lost. That just doesn't seem fair, but then, 'fair' doesn't figure into much in this world. It isn't fair that the scales read lower on Thursday after a Wednesday WI. It isn't fair that no matter how many minutes or seconds you choose to warm your coffee or tea in the microwave, when you open the door the cup handle will be on the opposite side away from the door... however, there is some good news when it comes to Sparkpeople and why I am here. I know that the support offered by my BLC 39 teammates is invaluable to my success. I know that the discipline and focus that the challenge presents will help me reach my goals of weighing less and improved fitness. I know that others are working their own plan to reach their own goals and we are encouraging each other along the way. Connection to community, though spread far and wide, is not only helpful, it's healthy! I'm delighted to 'know' people from all over the U.S. and abroad due to shared goals. This makes me smile, lifts my spirits, and that improves my overall health!
It's week 4 of the challenge already. The first weeks have flown by and I'm finding my way once again. I'm off to purchase healthy food for the week, I'm tracking, I'm thinking about tracking, I'm thinking about thinking about tracking... That's helping me to stay aware of my goals, my health, my reason for joining this team. I hope to encourage others as a way of giving back, or paying forward, but what I gain by participating far outweighs my cheering.
Thank you, BLC 39, C.A.M.O. Crew, and SparkPeople for sharing so much with me. Today I write from a place of deep gratitude.
