What I Want To Accomplish

Sunday, June 09, 2019

I would like to establish a routine that will help me feel better about my health and environment. Chronic pain and fatigue makes it difficult to work full time, keep a clean house, keep yard looking nice, feed myself properly, and get a decent amount of exercise. I think yard work counts as exercise, as does some house chores so I definitely keep that in mind. My mother liked fly lady growing up but I cant handle that level of house keep. So here is what I had in mind. It sounds like a lot, but I will be gradually adding just 1-2 things weekly or monthly depending on how much energy it requires.

Start my day around 6 am - not doing this daily yet
Mon-Fri typical work day is 8 am-5 or 6 pm - this is a given
Spruce up the bathroom real quick after I get ready in the morning
Read a book on lunch break
Take care of the dogs - this is a given
Do Yoga daily even just 10 minutes- not doing daily yet
1 load of Laundry daily as needed(Wash dry fold)
Do dishes after dinner every night
Ride bike 3 times a week
Spend time in sewing room 3 times a week
Hubby helps a lot with food prep so I want to have a list of things I feel I need and go with him so I am more involved not just relying on him.
Tuesday night we play dungeons and dragons with friends
Saturday morning is appointment with my new counselor
Weekend house cleaning can be dust, vacuum, mop
I would also like to do 1 yard work chore per weekend. Hubby mows and does the weed whacker, but I want to clean up the beds and plant flowers. I would also like to grow some herbs and wheat grass on the back porch. Might even consider tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and research shiitake mushrooms.
Last but not least dust of my piano and play it again.
Go to bed around 10 pm

Seems like a lot but my philosophy is one day at a time, and one task at a time. I plan on doing the most important things first each day (There will never be more than 3) and always do something for myself that I enjoy. I think that is crucial to not quitting.
Good luck to all of you as you pursue your journeys. emoticon emoticon

I’m sure some days are better than others, pain & energy wise. Do what you can do! There’s no reason why you can’t achieve all your aspire to achieve. Having a plan & structure to your days will most certainly help. Keep moving forward!!! emoticon
