On the final stretch...

Saturday, March 07, 2020

I finally took the plunge and filed for early retirement! I still can't believe I have started down the road of finishing with work and finally having some ME time...it is sure going to be strange...at first, I wasn't sure if I could cope being at home, but as I think more about it, retirement isn't the end of an era, it's the start of another...Noew things to do, more time to yourself and for your family... what's not to like? My paid leave starts on April 3rd, and I retire officially on May 18th! It's still an odd feeling, but once I am getting going and the vacation finally starts, I know that I will feel different!
Have fun, guys- wishing you all well! emoticon

I did not take early retirement but am now looking at cutting back
to less than half-time. It is vastly different when you are self employed
and your husband retires and your SIL takes over the office. I still feel
very obligated to work at least 35 hours a week. We are anticipating that
our son will work in the insurance office starting in July and I am not
sure if I can really stay home after working for 40 years. It will feel strange-
    when I get there LOL!

Enjoy your retirement. Take a couple of months off before you take stock and decide on the next purpose of your life. All the best to you....
