Day 24/600 - to blog, or not to blog

Monday, March 09, 2020

So, I figured something out.....

One of my commitments is to write my journal/blog every day. Last time around I did really well, and I started off well this time, too. But I came to the realization that this is not a good commitment (at least for me), for a couple of reasons.

1. I often simply can’t think of anything to write - at times I really struggle and I don’t want to make stuff up just to be “consistent” (by the way, I truly appreciate anyone who makes the time to read my journal, and thank you for stopping by and your support)

2. When I started to not blog for a few times last time around, I felt seriously disappointed that I broke my commitment, and it became one contributing factor to my downward spiral.

So, I’d rather be consistent recording my food intake, drinking my water, etc.
This way, I give myself the liberty to journal when I feel I have something to say/record and avoid setting myself up for failure on this part.

Although this may not be the most mind blowing discovery, I am really proud that I recognized this a couple of days ago, and feel a lot better than Saturday evening when I was staring at my screen for 30 minutes, drawing a complete blank. The problem I have, if I commit to something, I expect 100%, and nothing less. Inevitably, I disappoint myself at one point.

So, this time around, I give myself permission to not be perfect, just awesome.....yes, awesome is good enough......

Anyways, had a great weekend, and a great day today. Was on point the last 3 days and I am super positive that I am making this happen.

Day 24 - 17 lbs down - only 183 lbs or 576 days to go to 220lbs

I WILL succeed, because I choose to, because I CARE!

C - COMMIT + Plan every day - I choose to see every day as a new opportunity!
A - ACT on my plans consistently - I choose to take the initiative, I own this!
R - RECORD + REVIEW daily - what worked, what didn’t - Celebrate every victory, learn from any challenge!
E - EMBRACE the journey - I choose to own every decision and every choice and will not be derailed by one challenge, by one bad choice!

Recognizing your priorities and what actually works for YOUR success, is a key to a new lifestyle, not a diet..
I will bet that some of that healthy food is helping your brain fire on all pistons to figure things out! LOL!

I enjoy your blogs and find them inspiring and motivating. I enjoy following your journey. BUT, if it is causing you stress on any level, you need to do what’s best and right for you. If you write it, I will read it. If you don’t, know that I am still rooting you on and wishing you much success with your plan.

Absolutely, you bet you are awesome. I know how you feel. I was committed on my 5% Winter Challenge to blog for a week. While I am a pretty good communicator I wondered what am I going to writ 7 days in a row that would interest anyone. Tough week. I can honestly say I look forward to. Your blogs. It’s like checking in with a good friend to see how things are going. When you didn’t write your daily blog I hoped everything was alright. When you previously blogged everyday and stopped I kept checking back. There’s a void. I do realize writing everyday is tough. So letting us know is great. Write when it works for you. Please know you really do have people in different parts of the country cheering you on, wishing you the best! Really hoping you are successful cuz your success is just proof positive it can be done, and if you can do it so can I. So best wishes, and your blogs are awesome as are you! I guess I really rambled on...lol I have used up all my words for today.
