The Scale and Me

I weigh in once a week on Fridays. I'm hoping for good results tomorrow, but today I'm focusing on Non-Scale Victories. My coach asked me what NSV's have I been experiencing. My first thought was not many. I mean, yes, my pants fit better and I can see a waistline now which makes me smile. But, other than that...

Guess what -- when I stopped to think about it, reflect on my progress, look back -- there have been a lot of benefits, some of them really surprised me.

I'm happier and more proud of myself.
Fewer headaches.
Less stressed.
More confident.
Sleeping better.
I can keep up the pace on my Walk Away the Pound videos.
I'm a better cook. Waste less food. Eating more green foods.
Willing to try new things that I wouldn't have done a few months ago.
Stronger. I've increased from 3 pound hand weights to 5 pounds and increased my reps.
I've gone from a 20W pant size to a 16W. Smaller shirts too.
Increased energy. Completing more tasks in a day.

So, I'm learning to be more patient with myself when it comes to losing pounds on the scale and proud of myself because I keep showing up! Have you stopped to look at your progress recently? I bet you'll surprise yourself too.
