Health Update

Thursday, July 09, 2020

June 11 I went back to St. Vincent’s Hospital and had another heart cathe and had to have 2 more stents—I had 4 last November so am up to 6 stents now. One from November had closed up 99%. Today I saw my cardiologist and he told me he had not had one do that in over 3 years like that —I told him I was unique. Now if I have shortness of breath, I am to call and he will send me ASAP for another procedure. Also, I got the all clear to start exercising again and hopefully will be going back to cardio rehab within a week or two. I am still on break but wanted everyone to know that I am getting back on track slowly but more determined than ever. Hopefully getting on a regular schedule and doing my exercises again will improve my mental and physical being. I admit to being very social and between not feeling great, staying at home because of COVID19, being careful to not do anything to raise my heart rate is not fun to me. I am used to being in motion and getting 8,000 to over 10,000 steps a day. The past 2 months, rarely did I reach 6,000 steps and most days were under 3,000 or much less.

Thanks for all the good wishes and prayers. I know they are what is keeping me sane and slightly positive. LOL.

Thanks for keeping us updated. My husband had a stent collapse like that almost a year to the day. Replaced and added 2 more. It’s been 9 years and he’s healthy and strong like an ox. Take your baby steps. Build up. You’ll be back to getting your steps in no time. emoticon

Thanks so much for the update, you are going through this at a particularly rough time. Is your family near ? take it slow just doing a little more if your body allows and rest as you have had those procedures. Hugs.

You are in my thoughts and prayers Linda Kay. One thing that has really helped my husband is a product called Serrapeptase It clears up plaque from arteries. He had 2 stents put in 10 yrs. ago. His tests each year have proved that the product has helped. Up to you. It does not interfere with heart medication-he is on 2.
It may keep you from having any more stents and not affect the other 6 again.

Hope all goes well. Yes, this whole situation is awful with the Covid19. Hang in there. Don't be too hard on yourself about your steps. Studies recently say as long as you get 3-4000 a day that is good. The 10,000 goal that the Japanese started when they made the first fitness tracker, was something they made up. You don't have to get more than 4000 a day to maintain health. If you do, good for you, burns more calories and keeps you limber. I set my goal on the fitbit to 3000, that way I feel good when I get that and more. That way I don't feel defeated if I don't get that elusive 10,000 I never seem to get.

serrapeptase.org for more information. It cleared up my Rosacea on my face after 3-4 months of one-two a day. (Small veins that make your face look really red)

    Take care....
