Begin Again

Wednesday, August 26, 2020

It has been a very long time since I posted anything new in this space. Much has happened in the intervening days, most notably, I've retired from 25 years at Indiana University working in Procurement Services as a contract manager. I enjoyed my work there because I was able to help my university colleagues from all of the 7+ IU campuses across the Hoosier state -- please don't ask me what a Hoosier is. I've been asking for 25 years with no luck!!
So, now that I've hung up my procurement cleats, I was planning on some small travels here and there but that plan blew up in March with the pandemic. I haven't been out of town since I can't remember when. We are isolating due to age and "co-morbidity" issues that make it best if we avoid socializing. So, here I am, back with my Spark friends as I've allowed myself to put on the weight I worked so hard to remove when I was last here. I can't think of a better place to be when quarantined with a refrigerator and a pantry.
With the start of the BLC round, I decided it was also time for me to get serious about my health and well being. While I didn't sign up for the BLC, my goals have not changed, I do want to be healthy and active. I worked this off before and I can do it again.
Thank you for being here, Spark and Spark friends. It's good to have a place where everybody knows your name, and they are always glad you came. And the best part is that we encourage each other to work on our goals, we celebrate victories and challenges, and we walk together when we can't run.

To Our Health!

I agree, I need all of the encouragment I can receive on working toward my weight loss goals, especially because of that "quarantined with a refrigerator and a pantry" consideration.
