Sharing an Evening with Strangers....
Monday, September 14, 2020
Yes, we moved approximately 1600 miles, June 8th and arrived June 10, closing on our "forever home" June 12. WooHoo! Three months and counting! We celebrated my birthday, September 12, by going to dinner, and more!
When we arrived, there was a 20 minute wait, which was fine, we were willing to relax, sitting in the chair, and await our turn. As we sat there, two other people, a sweet couple, gabbed, with small talk of the weather, and such. The hostess greeted them, and told them a table was ready. We waved and said, enjoy! Seconds later, they returned and asked us to join them, at the "large table!" How sweet is that!
So complete strangers, only minutes before, and we became fast friends, as the evening progressed. Dinner was excellent, conversations amazing, and ironically we closed the place! Yes, we sat there, talking, enjoying each others company, and tentatively planning more dinners, and events to come, Our waitress, even sat down with us, as we swapped stories, and giggles! While the others cleaned up the tables!
We said our goodbyes, and gave each other hugs! Yes, hugs, even during these crazy times, but it felt so good! Looking forward to meeting, and enjoying others, as we all try to stay safe, stay healthy, but Life Goes On! So don't stop, just be careful, and enjoy! You never know, a stranger, is but a stranger only Once!
