Update on the fabulous four

Wednesday, September 30, 2020

Well! The girls are doing well and growing. They now have two thirds of their run covered, just in time for rainy season so it doubled their room to roam out of the rain. I tried to order a roof tarp from the company I bought the original run from, but when I inquired as to whether I could order just an extra tarp, they responded telling me I could order a barber chair part and then had a link attached to, in fact, a barber chair part. So the translator clearly was not working and I didn't have time to sort that out and just found something from an entirely different company...not the exact same size as the first one, but close enough.

My youngest was out and just about to give the girls a mealworm treat, had just stepped into the run, and Bev (apparently wanting to be first to the party) flew from the opposite end of the run directly into the chicken wire wall next to where my son was standing. She left a big dent but seemed unfazed. These birds are always doing the most unpredictable things! Tonight I went out to give them a treat from the palm of my hand and Bev and Agnes came right up and started eating normally while Rosie stood slightly to the side and just pecked my thumb a few times, not getting any food at all, and Lilly stood WAY off to the side refusing to even come near...but she did try to steal the food the braver birds got. Today I saw a children's book called, "Someday We'll all have Very Good Manners" and I think I may need to read it to Lilly!

My new job is very disorganized right now. Due to almost the entire office turning over and covid shut downs (twice) as well as the doctor's heart surgery in the middle of it all, the whole place has pretty much been turned upside down. On the bright side, the doctor seems intelligent and reasonable and I have a friend who works there which makes everything a little more bearable. I need to get them a book called "Someday We'll all be Very Organized". The amount of redundant admin work there is quite insane and as we are in 2020 now, I feel should be much more streamlined. Having to input the exact same information into the computer 4 times for one order is pretty ridiculous, and yet, that is just what we do. I am pretty sure that technology is slowing us down with our current process. But who knows, maybe I just need to get used to it.

Looking forward to a fun family outing this weekend but still need to do everything to get ready for it, plus work, plus can another batch of salsa so it's going to be a busy next 3 days! Hope all you sparkies are sparking along. Cheerio!

Your life is so much more interesting than mine. Ds is moving out, a very long drawn out process that will probably take months by the time it's finished. And my life mostly seems to consist of days of nothing but paperwork (and computer) and days of nonstop errands dawn to dusk. Boring but still exhausting.

Those little girls sound so adorable! Did I tell you we have a little female parakeet that Did I tell you we have a little female parakeet that is a soulmate with our mail but she is a plump little gal that really does not like to exercise unless we coke so out of the cage and kind of make her fly. She is pastel yellow and I swear she looks like a miniature little chick, all plump and fluffy! When I go up to her and start talking he's afraid I'm going to number so she tries to hide behind a strand of bells, Hoping I can't see her!

I do hope things get organized at work and your doctor who's suffered the heart attack recovers. Everything sounds like a lot to deal with that I hope you will have fun this weekend getting away! ....😊 ...πŸ’“OR Should I say flying the coop LOL!

It's great to have a chicken update! Sorry to hear work is so chaotic though! Hopefully there's a way to avoid inputting thinks 4 times each because that sounds like such a waste of time!
