Happy day

Wednesday, September 30, 2020

This morning I finished an order of masks for a former coworker and dropped them off for her. We’ve stayed in touch, but It was wonderful to see her and exchange a careful masked hug before stepping back. We’re planning a park date soon.

Husband had an appointment and a half day off so after meeting my friend, I picked up lunch and met him at a nearby park. It was a gorgeous day, the first cooler one we’ve had since spring. When I was working, I often went to this park on my lunch hour. It was great to sit there as long as we wanted to without having to be anywhere else. We walked along the lake and saw an alligator, anhingas, moorhens, herons, jays, and lots of squirrels.

We finally have an alligator hanging out in Turtle Lake. It's the first one since before lock-down so it's been a long time between visitors. Maybe he knew outside visitors were not permitted on campus?

I would draw the line at alligator, but then again I live in Upstate NY next to a little lake, so a meltdown would be expected if I spotted an alligator in our lake. Your day sounds fantastic, though! Couldn't find a gator, so here is a lovely turtle instead: emoticon

I had to look up what anhinga' were. Now that I know what theyn look like need to go back and read about them. Interesting looking birds. Isn't it wonderful to have no time clock to punch, and and hour or so in the park is a lovely way to spend some free time. I think I need to one of these days to do my annual park visit. I need to wait until Larry takes his pick up so I can us the van and take Merlin with me. He would sure enjoy it. Maybe Duke, but his likes to run and won't come back when you call him, so would have to find his leash. And my favorite little park is only like 5 minutes from our house, don't know why I only visit it once a year. I guess cause if I used it all the time it would lose that special meaning.
