Where Does My Joy Come From - 10/04/20

..... my husband brought me a small wooden handmade night light with a dragon fly a few months ago from his trip to Laconia Motorcycle Rally. We keep it in the bathroom, and I realized that he plugs it in for me before he goes to night shift, while I am driving home from work. It's like a little hug from him when I walk into the bathroom and see that little light on next to the mirror. Can't say enough about the little things!
....I forgot my bank card and license at home today. I didn't realize it until I had poured coffee and milk into my travel mug at the gas station and wanted to pay for it. I didn't even have spare change. I told the girl at the counter that I would stop back and pay for it. She smiled and just waved me on. I wrote it in our family WhatsApp chat, just to share it with my family. My daughter Sarah and her room mate drove all the way to our house, got the license and bank card, and drove to my work to deliver them to me AND brought me home made banana bread for dessert. I had no idea she would do that, what a great surprise! On my way home I stopped at Stewart's and paid for my coffee.
.... I have been trying to spend more time with my cockatiel Goose, and am figuring out more ways to engage with him. This morning, I made myself an egg sandwich and sat on the couch next to his cage. I noticed he climbed down to sit close to me. I broke off a tiny piece of toast to offer it to him. He usually doesn't like anything I offer him. This time, after a few minutes of me just holding the piece up to him while I kept eating, he started pecking at it and ended up nibbling on it. He almost ate the whole thing. So he likes Heidelberg Multigrain Bread. And obviously he likes to eat with me instead of me just waiting for him to eat. Okay, Goose, we can do this.
