Enjoying My New Life

Thursday, October 08, 2020

I'm so happy, SparkFriends! :) I had no idea how much my confidence would skyrocket by moving out!

I even flirted (for the first time in my life!) with a security guard at work last week! He always seems to go out of his way to say hi to me, and is always so kind to me, and I like that. He's really tall, and thick (big boned, and a bit overweight). I kind of regret flirting, though, because what if he's not single?? Plus, now it's a little awkward between us. I'd reveal more details, but I'm afraid he'll find my blog.

I got another straight perm yesterday. I feel more confident when my hair isn't frizzy, or too voluminous. I just hope my new hair won't be too thin!

I finally saw a sports medicine doctor yesterday who also happens to be a physical medicine doctor, and boy, am I glad I did! He came with a student doctor too. I told them about my shoulder journey, and they did a physical exam. The doctor showed me my MRI, and said I don't have shoulder tendinitis at all, and that the other physical medicine doctor was wrong--I have a pinched nerve in my neck (not my back). He advised me not to go through with the cortisone shot (it was scheduled for Friday), because my pain has decreased with physical therapy, and it would be good to save cortisone shots for when I'm older, when I will need them more (you can only get a certain number of them throughout your lifetime). I said okay, and was so impressed with this new doctor that I have decided to see him instead of my old physical medicine doctor. I think I really needed to see a doctor in person (I could only have phone appointments with the other physical medicine doctor due to COVID).

Also, my family doctor consulted with the dermatology department, and they gave me a prescription ointment to combine with Aquaphor to get rid of the red marks on my nose bridge (where my glasses sit). Really hope this works!

So far, I have cooked rice, ramen, frozen pizza, and hot dogs. I know, pitiful, but I'm working on it. I'm going to try to scramble some eggs later.
