Morning Sparkies,

Today is lovely and cool after a warm to hot week, a huge cloud hovers over me and a breeze is blowing the Eucalypt leaves around, birds fly in and out of the trees and the kangaroos have headed for the forest, stopping to wait patiently for the old and the young as they bound over the paddocks :) .... ah ...

Not so good on resting my hands as I thought I would be ... so much yarn so little time :) I did take new pics of the Christmas doll I will send Miss A this year, have been holding on to it till she is a little older.

then was putting a pattern back in my folder and found this so had to put it on the needles !

It is a 4 ply fingering pattern so light :)

Seven days and a lot of stitches later ... not sure who it will go to yet :)

Now I WILL rest my hands till November :), have some lovely yarn to use a Mericano merino yarn and a lovely lace pattern all picked out :).

I went out on Thursday with my friend/sister, we have been friends for a long time though we both moved and lost touch with each other for years. I had been chastising the men for not helping me use up my words and was getting a little fuzzy and forgeting things.

Well after four hours of non stop interaction, laughing and talking I was worn out and had to sit for a couple of hours when I got home to rest ... LOL... so wonderful :)...

It is great to be able to interact on SP with people across the world, with different lives, cultures, positions and with the common goals we all get on so well together. A family for sure ...

Thanks for stopping by to read my blog,

I have found the busier I keep my hands, the better I do as far as staying on track food-wise. LOL. I admit, when I am working with fabric I won’t eat for fear of getting something on it. I love the doll—so unique. It is also very beautiful and I sure love the new pattern you are working on. I do love it too. Have a super week. We have been cooler this past week and I turned the AC off until late this afternoon when the house got above 77 F. I only came on once so that is fine with me. I know it will be cooler tonight. emoticon

I love hearing about sights at your house. They are so much different from what I see in central USA. That scarf is beautiful. I’m sure miss A will love the doll. It’s adorable! Good luck on resting your fingers til Nov. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Your creations are so beautiful. Miss A is going to LOVE that doll! I am sure she will cherish it.

We sure could all learn a lesson from the kangaroos, couldn't we.

Thanks for sharing! Have a good week.

Love the reversible Christmas doll -- and yes, I had a reversible doll when I was a little girl (not Christmassy, though) and had forgotten all about it till I saw this!! Little Miss A is going to love it.

And your new scarf -- so gossamer in the laciness and lightness but it also looks dauntingly complicated!!

Your kindly kangaroos waiting for the young AND the old . . . Australians are just like that, I suspect!!

Your last paragraph is my thoughts exactly as I read about the kangaroos.
I want to see kangaroos! Not just on a documentary. I hope this mess is over before DH & I are too old to reschedule our trip to your part of the world,

I've been watching a documentaries about WWII. The reason will be in a future blog. This is the first one I've seen that included the role of Australians. Very interesting.

    Good morning Christine,
We are still experiencing hot weather although we had rain on Saturday. Ah, the first of our winter weather.

No rest for the knitter, eh? Well, you do such great work, but now you’ve finished some pieces, take a break and rest your fingers! Great photos (as always) and nice work!

Glad you had a great time with your friend/sister. It’s always nice catching up.

    Take care and happy sparking!

Always busy making something or doing something! You do deserve to take a break and give your hands some rest. Enjoy the weather before it gets too hot to be comfortable!

Glad you got to reconnect with an old friend. Some old relationships are wonderful to re-visit while others are better left in the past, so I'm glad you had a good time.

    Have a great week!

Busy hands are happy hands. Well done and what a fun doll as it’s two in one. Always fun getting girl time and making up for lost time and catching up. My sister and I can laugh at nothing and people look as if we’re crazy and can’t understand what’s so funny. Nothing. Stress relief, and a common understanding. What a lovely time for you. All your creations are so wonderfully and beautifully made
