We finally hit a wall... it is a real challenge to get the cardio we both need. My husband is having a few issues, a foot that has lots of arthritis, and a low back that acts up now and then. I just miss the gym, ellipticals, treadmills, rowers, weights, plush mats, classes, and all we have been doing is walk... walk, and more walking.
Runnergirl, a pro athlete, did 30 km today, a trail run and it was freezing cold rainy windy... she and pal did it and posted “ the only run I regret is the one I didn’t do “ . OK, she is an amazon, and I, a mere mortal, but how happy I am to report to her... I’d jogged indoors today... did 2 miles in my one befroom apartment... barefoot. I hope the neighbors don’t hate me.
Yesterday's walk was ok... it was alright, cold but some sun. Today... grim. Icy rain and high winds. I simply had no choice...I jogged around until 30 minutes passed. Done. Abs done earlier and a stretch.
A friend texted me today. Had her checkup ( high bp, borderline sugar ) and her dr read her the riot act... no sugar, no starch... and one more no... no help. And there is help out there. Nutitionists, dieticians, some through our health insurance ( OHIP) and public health. She says she and her husband are managing...not interested in an online site like this. Too bad. Lots of resources but...
These are troubling times, and we need to find answers... or the quarantine will undermine our health. Do not allow that to happen. Find a way, a workaround, get creative... why, because the quarantine and shutdowns will shut us down.
