Create a Vision Board with Pinterest to Motivate
Tuesday, November 10, 2020
I use a vision board I created on Pinterest to remind myself to focus on my goals. In addition, it motivates me to do concrete things to accomplish my goals.
A few days ago, I wanted to take a wonderful trip to Europe a few years ago. When I was having a frustrating day, I would look at my travel vision board and put my mental energy into imagining the places we would go and to plan the trip. Instead of being two weeks of a wonderful experience, it lasted a year before and through today, when I sometimes look at the board and have many memories return to me.
I'm in the process of creating a vision board for nutrition and exercise to remind me of the concrete things I want to do daily or weekly to achieve my goals. The board will include pictures to remind me where I want to be at the end of all the effort.
Just making the vision board will be a good exercise in staying the course. Some people make a new one every month or quarter. I could see how that might work. For instance, my goal this month might include 15 pushups, 30 minutes wogging daily with 3 intervals and plant based no oil meals 80% of my meals. Next month, those numbers could be bumped up a little. I would post a picture of push-ups and have a note at the bottom with the goal I hope to attain. I might include some healthy recipes to try that month.
There are some great motivational sayings in the "motivational quotes for success" or "motivational quotes for exercise"categories. Just do a search on those words and you will find quotes that move you in the right direction.
