Midweek Update

Wednesday, November 25, 2020

Hello Sparkies,

I went to the Cardiologist yesterday, he was surprised to see me after so many years and happy to see I had continued on my journey :)

I had a folder of my BP's and what I ate, the GP's email printed out for him and the changes I had made to help myself like adding more vege and less protein when I saw the high Alb/Cr Ratio, he was impressed.

Not so when I told my side of the story and asked for a letter of introduction to a new GP who would be happy to prescribe what he had for me to remain in good health.

Rebecca did her surgery stint of Medical school with him and when I went to Hospital in 2012, he took my case and over the years had worked to get my condition into a well controlled state. I hadn't needed to revisit for over five years :)

He told me of a GP who worked in my town and had a good relationship with him, amazing God is good.

He said they had done the ECG incorrectly and the calculation was wrong. I'm not going to drop dead .... !!!!

However I do have some existing problems that he will send me for testing ... one involves a box worn for a few days ... then go back to him after the New Year for results.

It was like getting together with a long lost friend :), he listened and chatted about family and it was lovely :)

My GP is a nice lady but when it comes to changing my meds I have to think of myself and my family.

Thanks for stopping by and for caring about me :)

Hugs to all

Christine

Can you hear me breathing a sigh of relief halfway around the world?
    Awesome news!

I remember getting a letter in college to come to the health center because "there was a problem with my chest X-Ray" (those were required back in the day) This was different from the "heart locket" remark from an earlier incident.
Anyway, by the time I walked up the hill to their office, I was actually out of breath.
The problem? They couldn't FIND my records. I saw the problem immediately. My last name began with P but in the script on the report, it looked like an R. I was in the wrong filing cabinet!
I have a very active anxiety gene. Now I carry xanax just for times like those.

SUCH good news . . . I am delighted for you and all your family. What a relief from worry and a "reward" for all your hard work in complying with your exercise and diet regime.

Mistakes DO get made and it's so wise to have followed up: especially with somebody you trust to listen to you.

    YAY!!!

Well, thankfully you aren't going to "drop dead"!!! You have to have a Dr. that will listen to YOU and help you along your path. Nothing wrong with wanting a Dr. that will do that for you.

Sounds like you'll be wearing a halter monitor, which records your heart rate and rhythm for a Dr. to read. My ex had a murmer that was discovered during a random check up and she had to wear that monitor for about a week. Turned out to be nothing, but it was good that a small device could record the "evidence" for the Dr. to see.

I hope your upcoming tests turn out good for you!!
