Un-anticipated Benefit of Getting Xmas Sorted Early

I started Xmas preparations early this year - mostly due to the pandemic; in case I got sick; in case I had to isolate; in case the postal services were disrupted etc. Also, in part, because I knew I was going to be retiring at the end of November and uncertain about finances.

However, having done all my Xmas shopping and card-making/sending etc, I discovered an un-anticipated benefit!

I can easily ignore and delete all the Black Friday and Xmas emails coming into my in-box! No, I don't want 10% off if I spend more than £40. I also don't want my 'birthday discount' vouchers which everyone is shoving my way. It's such a relief to be able to just press 'delete'!
