Wishing a peaceful, healthy and happy year to all my Spark friends
A couple of year's ago my One Word for the year was "patience".- well, I thank God that I apparently managed to learn something from that focus!!!
I'm a tortoise - I tend to pull my neck in when problems and ill-health arise. So lock-down hasn't been as difficult for me as it definitely is for other folk. But even so . . .
I was only out the house a couple of times a week, at most, in the past "normal" life. But I've now realised that even that small out-and-about -ness was what I needed:
- a wee bit of seeing other folk;
- a wee while outside my own 4 walls;
- a wee chat, or even just a smile, with other folk.
But now I don't get any of that. Hubby is a great blessing, because he does all the shopping, and collecting prescriptions from the chemist's. Voluntarily.
You'd hardly believe how excited I got a couple of months ago when I was able to start going to the library again
It's likely that the next time I get out the house will be for a Covid vaccination

- though neither hubby nor I have heard anything yet about being called in for that.
Well, let's look on the bright side.
The snow, ice and frost would usually cause tremendous disruption to travel and work - and, for now, there's much less travel and people being outdoors than usual! So even though the weather's causing problems for those who have to drive (ambulances, delivery drivers, amongst others), at least there's less traffic around if they do skid.
And there are fewer folk out and about, so maybe the usual winter toll from slips, trips and falls will be reduced, and thus help our magnificent Health Service.
Stay safe, my friends, and try to think positively.
