Historic Day

I had just had lunch and was lacing up my walking shoes to head for the treadmill when what my DH was watching on MSNBC stopped me in my tracks. I could not believe my eyes as I watched the mob overwhelm the law enforcement people around the Nation's Capital and invade the Hall of Statues. What a sad, sad chain of events. All because of the President urged them to take their grievances to Congress directly. He should have known better. The events escalated to the point of calling out the National Guard as well as a LOT of state police and all from Virginia and Maryland. All in all there was blood spilled in the Capital Building and at least one died. What I saw made me physically ill. Tonight I'm saying prayers that our elected officials will do right by the vote verification and that this country can somehow heal the rifts that divide us. There has to be more that unites us if we are to survive as a Nation.
