Yesterday I ate over 2000 calories. The day went otherwise well but I had a deadline at work, and needed to stay up till midnight to meet it, and needed to have some candy to keep me going. It's ok, like I have said many times I do think we need (or I need) occasional treats. Where I could have made better was that I could have chosen a smaller bag of candy. Or at least count the calories for the whole bag before hands. So I ate the candy, I was pleased I didn't binge eat them all at once, but they lasted me many many hours. I was surprised how much caliries the whole bag had when I finally calculated it - by the time I had already ate them all.
Well, I will learn from this that next time I eat candy I will choose a smaller bag.
Weighting myself was again disappointment. Both weight and body fat up, and muscle down. The latter is the most worrying. Why can't I put on muscle mass, or is my smart scale just so absolutely unreliable at detecting it. I have been doing resistance training for several weeks now twice a week, plus one HIIT and rest of the times Pilates. I know it's not very intensive weight training schedule, and I am limited with the equipment I have at home, but I would have expected at least some muscle gains. If at occasional days my smart scale shows the muscle mass being increased, it is almost certain the next measuring time it is lower again.
I am a bit disheartened, but at this point, since I have just made some changes with my training and eating, I will just stick to it.
Anyway, today I did another resistance training workout. This was not probably geared for building muscle (sets and reps and progressive load will do that) but for a biginner I think this type of workout should work too.
Today's breakfast is proteiny aotmeal, mango and banana. Lunch is a veggie soup with beans and bread and/or a salad bowl. I will try to place my online grocery order today, I think I will aim for the delivery to be next Monday.
