I was able to get chores done..water tanks filled and even flushed the big tank early on today.
Then loaded up for a cruise thru town...got feed, it is always fun to go to the feed store..especially when the chicks are there. They said later this week or next week for sure!!
A quick stop at UPS store..thank heavens Amazon just has you do a drop off return there!!
Then I headed on up to Colorado Springs...on a mission!! Was the day to get some ducks!!
Once again..technology to my aide..googled the address and was able to just drive straight there as if I knew where the heck I was going!! Luckily at the very edge of town not in the big middle where the streets are crazy and end without warning or the name changes at the end of a block!!
So I loaded up "the boys" , Chatted with the lovely lady I got them from. OMG..she works from 9 to 6 ,,6 days a week (from home) ,,plus has a 4 month old and a husband that is in the Air Force!! Makes my lil life seem very simple and easy aye!!
The drive home was the worst of it..cause it was so easy! Traffic was flowing nicely and not heavy, the sun was shining warmly and my eyes were getting very droopy. I came close to pulling over to catch a nap..but was worried about the ducks being closed in that carrier and would they get too hot. So I pushed on..safely and arrived home.
Gene and Tammy came over to see the "new kids on the block" and then Gene unloaded the feed for me..hurrah for sons!! They stayed and visited for quite a while which was a nice change, it was warm enough to sit out on our favorite deck and just chat!! lovely !!
One of the boys will go to live with Madisons flock across the way. I will keep the smaller of the two since Yacky is a fairly small duck hen. The geese were already honking and going on at the boys thru the gate..a few days of seperation and then we will try to see how they mix. I need to let Madison know her boy is here so she can head over to get him in the next day or so.
Here's a pic....their names are Lester..the green headed one..and Jester...the less colorful one. They are a cross between an Indian Runner duck and Rouen ducks...cute lil guys !
That about wraps up my day...I hope yours was as enjoyable as mine!
Let's continue to be safe rather than sorry...this too shall pass as they say..just don't rush it!!
Good nite all...
