Sometime you have to work at feeling better

Friday, March 05, 2021

Late one hot morning, two tourists driving through Louisiana saw on the map that the next logical stop for lunch would be at a town called Natchitoches. They wondered about the pronunciation, one favoring NATCH-ee-toe-cheese and the other saying it made more sense as Natch-ee-toe-TOTT-chez. They stopped at a franchise burger place and went inside; a fresh-faced girl took their order. One said: "We need somebody local to settle an argument for us. Could you please pronounce where we are...very slowly?"
The girl leaned over the counter so they could watch her lips and said as distinctly as she could, "Brrrrrrrr, grrrrrrr, Kiiiiiinngg."

I know what I should do, exercise and eat less but I don't seem to be doing that. I feel down today and it could be due to my older son leaving this morning and plans on being gone a week on road trip to visit army buddy in Phoenix, AZ. Or it could have to do with putting off getting my sister's gift to her. Or several other things but at least I'm thinking about it and working on doing things to feel better.
Have a great weekend.

Work on ways to accomplish even a few little things that will boost your mood. Eat healthy and be proud of your restraint.

Oh my goodness! That joke was so funny!

I'm sorry you're feeling down today. Try to embrace the time alone instead of dreading it. Put some music on that you enjoy and play it extra loud! Try a new recipe that you wouldn't normally try because your son wouldn't like it. Do something nice for you that you wouldn't normally do. The other things on your "to do" list? You'll get to them. Once you tackle just one item, you'll feel so much better! You might even try tackling another!
I hope you enjoy the weekend!

    Loved the joke!

I can understand your mood and how that makes it difficult to do things, be it chores or working toward goals. I have been procrastinating on two major tasks and it's affecting my sleep and peace of mind. I keep telling myself that I'm going to get to it but I'm not.

I hope you feel somewhat better and can enjoy the weekend.

I totally understand. I make a daily list and some things I just never get around to.
Why? Because I don't want to and I know I should and then I feel badf.
But as you say, you are thinking about it and I keep it on the list.

    I hope you feel better.

I understand what you are going through. I know what I am supposed to do, but that doesn't mean I do it. I know so much about nutrition, but I eat the foods I like instead of rabbit food and fish. Ick. I hope you have a good weekend. My youngest son also left today for a few days. He went with his girlfriend and her parents to a cabin about an hour away. They will be ice fishing and riding their snowmobile.
