It's not been a great month for me. Very stressful month. Stopped walking very much.

1. 1000 minutes of exercise. Stretch goal, 1200 minutes.
I got to 1060 minutes, so goal met.

2. Stay at least 1 week ahead of my online class.
I accomplished this, but just barely.

3. Track all food I'm eating.
Nope

Yeah, well, first world problems are still problems. Being too hot really does make the body want to stop moving.

I ended June, predictably, with half-measures.

emoticon I did a reasonably good job of only eating when I was hungry, but the "to share dinner with Eric" was a BIG loophole. I need to do a better job tolerating the late afternoon hungries until we can sit down to a meal together.

emoticon I will not sit at the computer for more than an hour at a time until my job once again requires it. Adding a couple more exceptions to this: unless I'm coding and firing emails back-and-forth with my student Rachel. Unless I'm zooming with friends and family. Unless I'm in my astrometrics class. What I'm really trying to say is I won't let myself get drawn into hours of mindless surfing. Not sure how to state it so it's well-defined, but I know when I'm doing it.

emoticon I will curl up with a good book once a day
Amazingly, this is the one I thought would be easiest, but I only did it once. Recommitting.

emoticon Only sewing when I go home. Revising to 6 hours a week.

emoticon Got back to 8800 steps a day without aches, but I wasn't consistent - I should be over 11000 a day by now.

emoticon One march.

emoticon I will map out the plan to get our students involved in the 2020 general election with Danixa. Didn't do yet.

emoticon I will write ten postcards for Vote Forward, or be otherwise involved in a campaign I care about each day. More like every other day. That'll be okay.

emoticon and I will call or write one of the many friends I can't visit but whom I've been reminded I can't take for granted every day. Again, more like every other day - I should step this one up. Mom today, Annette tomorrow...

emoticon Beaches opened yesterday! It's 3 to 4 hours round trip to get there, so I'm not sure I'll get there today, but it's supposed to be even warmer tomorrow. :)

Okay I managed to get in nine of my twelve weight trainings for the month so far, so my #3 goal is in sight. Now i just need to do it.

When it is hot out, and we don't have the AC on, I really lose motivation to do stuff. We have been wobbling back and forth on having the AC on, if most of the day is in the 70s, we leave it off, but that starts to suck out the motivation as it get hotter through out the day. I like to do my cardio outside while it is cool so the WT get relegated to the hot times, and then well, yah.

I know, my life is so hard :D.

I have never been so grateful to finish a year of school!

For just over 3 months I've been spending a minimum of 8 hours a day hunched over in front of my cursed computer, and the wound to my fitness is shocking to me. I have gained a little weight but I've lost a ton of muscle. It took just about 5 weeks to go from routinely walking 22000 steps a day to having actual aching hips at 4000 steps. I feel like I aged twenty years.

So now it's time to fight my way back.

For the rest of June and all of July

emoticon no eating to soothe frayed nerves - I will eat when I'm hungry or to share dinner with Eric; otherwise I will drink water.

emoticon I will not sit at the computer for more than an hour at a time until my job once again requires it.

emoticon I will curl up with a good book once a day

emoticon I will curl up with my sewing machine or huck embroidery project four times a week

emoticon I will walk 1000 steps farther than the day before every day until 22K is once again routine, and then I will resume running.

emoticon I will attend a March 4 Black Lives event weekly as long as they continue.

emoticon I will map out the plan to get our students involved in the 2020 general election with Danixa.

emoticon I will write ten postcards for Vote Forward, or be otherwise involved in a campaign I care about each day.

emoticon and I will call or write one of the many friends I can't visit but whom I've been reminded I can't take for granted every day.

emoticon and as soon as the Y or the beaches opens back up, I will swim swim swim and never again take for granted the opportunity.

That should keep me busy, and is STILL probably less time or willpower than the hours and hours at this cursed machine. I look forward to rejoining this community - thanks for still being here!

It's been rough so far. I am getting my minutes in and will probably be able to reach 1000 minutes. I'm not tracking food and I'm barely staying a week ahead of my classes.

Okay, we are about half way through the month so I thought I'd check in.

For me:

1. Should I even bother with a walking goal, since it is the thing I do and I love it. :). Walky walky. Minimum 20,000 per day unless there is a legit reason (10000 min).

Doing good here. Getting around 30k.

2. Plant the hostas and split the ones that need a good splitting. They look so happy not being split, but the time is approaching to make them sad and all choppy.

CHOP! Now the watering.

3. Do weight training at least 12 times during the month.

I have done some weight training (yah), but I really need to pick it up a few notches.
