I listened to a little talk from a 'professional' health promoter yesterday, about how 1lb a week is a healthy and sustainable way to lose weight. And how it is achieved by reducing your calories by 500 a day - and how you can do that by, for example, reducing your calories IN by 300 (changing a couple of things or reducing portion sizes slightly) and increasing your calories OUT by 200 (exercising just a little more).

It reminded me how valuable these little tweaks are.

Hi - my name's Karen (user name is a bit of a give away!) and I could do with losing 1lb a week. Weight has been creeping up since October so it's time I did something about it.
I'd be happy with half a stone in total so I'll start tomorrow.
Would start today but off to a colleague's leaving do in a good italian restaurant tonight.

Well done on your first 1lb loss emoticon

Excellent! So good to have some company for the journey!

My goal is 150 pounds which is at the high range of a healthy BMI for me.

My other goal is to lose at least a pound a week.

Not in a major hurry to get to goal, but I don't want to delay it either.

Hey I'm Georgia. I'm 10st 1lb (started at 10st 7lbs), I'll do the challenge with you. I normally weigh in on Fridays, but I do keep an eye on it every couple of days :-). What's your goal? Mine is to be somewhere around 8st (I probably won't reach 8st as my hips are so wide) or at a low-healthy BMI.

I started at 14 stone 13.5 pounds yesterday, and my goal is to lose at least a pound a week until I'm at goal. Anyone want to join me and weigh in here each week on whatever your normal weigh-in day is?
