“Whatever you are doing, keep it up!” Those were the words of my rheumatologist 30+ years ago after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder called ‘ankylosing spondylitis.’ X-rays revealed my spine to be 100% fused, with pain and stiffness.

I defied the doomsday diagnoses given by an orthopedist 35 years ago, “Be prepared to be disabled and in a wheelchair by the time you are in your forties!”

To that I replied, ‘NO I won't! So, in keeping with my rheumatologist’, I did what he recommended. I stayed mobile and kept moving! I am now 74 and worked full time, in very physically demanding job—and retired in my 70th year.

The awful prophecy did not come to pass, as the Dr. Grim said. I never made plans for anything but happiness and a fulfilled life—and that is what has come to pass!

I love retirement, except I found a new career which is writing! I have added Author to my nursing career. More below.

Sorry you are experiencing stress over sleeplessness. Have you explored any of the Jessa Gamble research on polyphasic sleeping? I found it comforting!!

Happy Friday! Since it’s Mother’s Day weekend, here’s are a few jokes I hope will make you giggle.

A mother was teaching her three year old daughter The Lord's Prayer.
For several evenings at bedtime, she repeated it after her mother.
One night she said she was ready to solo.
The mother listened with pride, as she carefully enunciated each word right up to the end...
"And lead us not into temptation," she prayed, "but deliver us some e-mail, Amen."

One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast to her brunette hair.
She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, "Why are some of your hairs white, Mommy?"

Her mother replied, "Well, every time you do something wrong and make me unhappy, one of my hairs turns white."

The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and said, "Mama, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?"

Q: What did mother broom say to the baby broom?

A: It's time to go to sweep.

Even though the toddler was having a furious tantrum, his mom was unfazed. “You may as well give up on the crying,” I heard her say as she led him to the store exit. “You’re stuck with me for 18 years.” —Sheila Custer

Enjoy your weekend, and Happy Mother's Day if you are a mother.

It was really nice to have John cook for us. He really is good. I normall do not eat that much food in 3 days, but I tried a little of everything and have a good doggie bag that will be meals for probably at least one or 2 more meals.

Hope you have had a god day, my dear. HUGS
