Take chances. It's YOUR plan. It doesn't have to look like anyone else's plan. If it doesn't work for you, let it go. Experiment. Enjoy your journey.

Important Things to Remember:
1. Keep your plan simple. Do not complicate it with a bunch of rules that make it difficult.
2. Don't expect perfection. No guilt.
3. Expect plateaus.
4. Don't get in a rush.
5. Listen to your body.
6. Never give up on yourself.
7. Keep it fun.

Accept missteps as if they never happened. Learn from them and move on immediately. Persistence, not perfection.

Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering. -Ida Scott Taylor

My Reason to be Healthy...
Independence! To take care of myself.

Nutrition goals
Intermittent fasting does not tell me what to eat. It tells me when to eat. I choose the length of the eating and fasting windows.
It has made a sustainable difference in my journey. It is a healthy way to live. Fasting lets my body switch from go mode to repair mode. (There are many kinds of fasts.)

1. While I may eat what I want, it's important to strive for balance. Get enough protein. Listen to my body. Stop eating when approaching full.
2. Eat fruits and vegetables.
3. Make water the beverage of choice. Reach for black coffee or tea when I want something besides water.
4. Because of health issues, I avoid sugar.
5. IF helps me avoid grazing all day (or night!) or reaching for junky snack foods.

January 2021 Added water fasting days to the schedule. There are so many health benefits to fasting, whether it's one day or more. I drink water, black coffee and tea without additives.

Deep listening is miraculous for both listener and speaker. When someone receives us w/open-hearted, non-judging, intensely interested listening, our spirits expand. Sue Patton Thoele

    Happy June,
What does it mean to you?
For me, I embrace the longer days, I get to put in my vegetable garden and grow food.
I am in awe of what one tiny little seed can do in such a short span of time.
Each and every one of us are Seeds..
    our thoughts are the seed,
our belief puts it into action
our thoughts and choices day by day bring to us what we desire.
    What do you desire?

Sometimes I wish Dad would have talked more about the war. He would answer my questions, but he never just brought it up to me. I know he was a cook. He spotted the plains to be shot down. I met 2 of his Army buddies one summer when we went out west. They went thru basic training together in Texas. One of them had his arm removed above the elbow. A tank flipped and landed on it. One time I watched Saving Private Ryan with him. He told me it was one of the most realistic movies about that time he had seen. He was my hero. I am the way I am because of him. He introduced me to big band music when I was 7. He is surely missed for sure. He passed in 2005.

Thank you for your sweet comments to my blogs. My daddy and I were 2 peas in a pod. I got to see Loretta Lynn a few years ago in Birmingham, AL. I always wanted to go see the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman. Classic country is my favorite.
