    Thanks for the comments on my past blog, the goodie and the friend add.
    That had to be one of the most hilarious things I have ever read about the trials of trying on bathing suits. (I still do not own a Speedo and I am still not going to post any pictures of my suited body!!)

    Hey Thanks for the e-mail. You are an inspiration as you are successfully losing the weight. I have not lost a pound, in fact, I think I may have gained one. It is encouraging to me that you take the time to clue us in on what's happening. Decluttering is good. In fact, it makes me feel lighter for some reason. I like the idea.     So glad I was able to inspire you. Funny thing, I joined SP when I first started my 'diet' but only read articles and did not get active on here until I reached my goal--believe it or not I was too embarrassed and unsure if I could succeed so I stayed in the shadows until I 'arrived'.
    Go figure!

    I think we do have a few things in common! I love art, I was a professional graphic designer and fine artist for several years, but due to a corporate downsizing I lost my job. I got into Real Estate and eventually ran my own office for about 10 years and I left my art behind for almost 15 years. I used my talent in my office creating ads and doing marketing, but the fine art and decorative art went by the wayside. After the Real Estate collapse, I closed my office in 2009 and have been working out of my home. I was very depressed (I didn't want to close my office) and gained even more weight.

    Then, when my younger daughter started talking about weight loss surgery and how she felt destined to be fat if she didn't do something drastic. Suddenly, I felt like a REAL failure as a parent who should have set a better example. So, I set out to show her weight loss CAN be achieved without surgery. And, I did it!!! (She still got the surgery about 6 months later--and is doing well.)

    Now, my older daughter is working on losing weight (the old fashion way) and is about the same place you are. She (re) joined SP a few weeks ago and is using the 17 day plan. Surprisingly, it is a very similar approach to how I did it, although I didn't do 17 day cycles. I just figured how many calories I needed and made the food 'fit' into the calorie allotment. When, I felt starved I realized then I needed more protein and added that, then I decided I really like bread and added that back in on occasion, and so it went.

    Exercise was and is still a challenge, but I try to do something physical everyday and since getting to my goal weight I am not nearly so hesitant to get up and DO something. I feel great and even the aches and pains I was developing before has been greatly reduced. I can do almost anything within reason.

    Thanks again for the friend add and hope we can continue to inspire each other.

    P.S. I am reviving my art. Currently, trying my hand at mosaics--which have always fascinated me. We have a nice little cabin not far from the house and I am revamping it for a studio space--it is reviving my spirits in a big way too!
