    Hi! You can do the 5K walk. Just run when you feel you can and walk the rest. Take your time and don't get injured. I started running by doing the Couch to 5K plan. I think the plan promises you to be running a 5K in 9 weeks. You could start doing the program and on the day of the 5K follow training for that day/week. By signing up for a race, it will push you to train and prepare. Once you finish your first race you will be encouraged and inspired to keep going. It's a great feeling to finish! Just to finish should be your goal...don't worry about time.

    Welcome to SP & thank you for adding me as a friend! That's awesome you want to be a great role model for your girls. I feel I've become one for my kids. The used to laugh and didn't think I could lose the weight and become so strong...now they ask me for advise on fitness and nutrition!
