7/16/2015 I'm a college professor trying to get everything in good shape for retirement next year. I need to lose weight and get in shape so that I can travel more when I retire and keep up with the grandchildren.

My Goals:
7/2015 Weight loss. Just a small step at first. Eventually I would like to loose a total of 70 pounds.

I recently came across an old picture of me when I was about 30. There IS a slim person inside this body and I want to see her again!


My Program:
7/2015 Portion control!! Also, I need to remember to eat small amounts through out the day. I tend to get busy and not eat while at work and then, of course, I overeat when I get home.

I have also joined a gym (!!) and have sprung for a personal trainer for 13 sessions. I like my trainer. He listens to me but makes me work in ways I have not done in decades.

I'm going for a modest 5 lbs lost per month. Eventually I want sculpted upper arms like Linda Hamilton had in one of the Terminator movies! I figure if the arms get good, then the rest of me will too.

I have gone on a very low carb diet. First two weeks and things are looking good. No spectacular weight loss but my blood glucose has become nearly normal.



Personal Information:
I love being a grandmother of 1 perfect 15 yr old grandson and a perfect 8 yr old granddaughter. Both my children are doing well and that makes me happy.

Both of them live in Southern California and I am here in Sacramento so I don't get to see them as often as I would like.


Other Information:
Retirement is just around the corner for me. Looking forward to finally getting the house decluttered, getting back into sewing (I am intrigued by making American Girl doll clothes for my granddaughter and a neice), simple jewelry, and am getting back into drawing and painting and taking day trips with an occasional trip abroad. Lots of places I would love to see.
