I tried to go for this back in Jan. but had a bad fall while trekking in the woods with my dog and I broke my elbow and sent my other arm into an even worse state with tendonitis. I thought I would continue the weight loss journey but the pain I was in proved to be to much and I just gave up. I was far too scared to walk outside for fear I would fall and do more damage. I'm back to work now and although both arms are still not 100% I'm feeling more like myself and I know if I can have just a little success it will propel me forward. In 2010 I lost 54 lbs on Sparkpeople I was known then as GracetoGrace, I'm hoping I can channel into my old motivation and lose weight and get healthy. Dr. Has told me I'm pre-diabetic so I need to make a real change. Good luck everyone.

Update scale says I'm down 2 lbs and my mood feels lighter as well. Thanks Sparkpeople. Baby Steps will get us there.

My Goals:
My first goal is to get back in the habit of eating healthy and doing some meal prep so I don't eat the unhealthy things my hubby who is an amazing cook, but not a healthy cook has ready when I come home from work. I want to reestablish the habit of tracking my food and spending time here at spark. For motivation, friendship and friendly competition or team challenges have motivated me in the past.

My Program:
Will be following the principles of the Simply for Life program.

Personal Information:
I am married, and my husband is now retired. We live in what is known as cottage country in Nova Scotia and share a multi-family property with my daughter and her husband, and I get to see my 2 sweet grandchildren every day. We are excited to be getting a new little grandson this summer. My best buddy is my Golden Retriever "Friday". We feel very blessed to live in this beautiful area. I have 2 adult sons as well but they do not live here.

    HI!! Oh I remember when I was new to the 5%!! I felt JUST LIKE YOU DO!!!! LOL I remained so CONFUSED thru the first 4 weeks!! I drove the CL (Challenge leader,, they are the ones who have the top position on the team you'll be on) CRAZY, but she like ALL CL's (Challenge Leader, in general there are 5 or 6 leaders on one of the 12 teams you'll be on. One is the mentioned CL backing them up are the ML (Motivational Leader who may have more time than the CL to help out. IF You are on the Dawggie team (Spirited Under Dawg) team I am the CL,,, I have time, since I work only 3 days a week, our ML Katie5668 also does) than on your team is the WL (Weigh In Leader) and 2 or 3 ELs (Extra Leaders) who help out the other 3). Once you are on your team there will be a chat room in which YES you can ask questions, get answers, share what you like, get a response etc. All 12 teams are really good!!

    SO HAPPY you have joined us. It'll make more sense one your on a team, and the actual challenge starts. You certainly can and should ask for a "buddy" to help you.

    I was where you are at. I in so much pain I could not function, as I lost the weight though the pain didn't change I DID. Once I could tighten up my muscles again, and I had TONS of PT to learn how, which ones ,,, plus a move across the country for care, than back to Maine, and I am working PT again!! Only 16 hours a week, but I AM Working and as a cashier on my feet, at times bagging ,, and I am having a GRAND TIME doing it!!
