I have many healthy lifestyle habits, but still had a hard time getting rid of those pounds I gained while unemployed and physically debilitated in 2008. I'm hoping for motivation and encouragement here. We all need help, even those that help others!
March 2010- I'm at 147 lbs.
Update 5/25/11 - Hmmm... now that I have lost 9 lbs, I realize I really needed to lose at least 15 lbs! Yikes... I'm going for 6 more and then re-evaluate! 138 lbs.
Updated 9/15/11 - Wow, less than 2 months till the wedding and I still need to lose 5 lbs! Having too much fun! Better get disciplined! 137 lbs
Updated 10/24/11 - 18 days till the wedding... I am still 2 lbs from my goal! Gotta get busy!
Jan 2013... Darn! All the wedding fun, holidays, etc. and I gained all the way back to my original weight... sigh. Time to get back on the plan, yes?
March 2013 - I hit al all-time high of 152 lbs! Yikes!
May 2013 - I have only maintained, not lost really over the last 4 months! SO I have joined some serious challenges here on Spark to kick me in the butt! 148 lbs
December 2013 - BLC has been a great motivator! Thanks to all my fellow CAMO team for all your great inspiration! Down to 137 lbs and holding.

Been away for 3 years! At my all-time high weight. Goal is 140 now. Which means 15 lbs to go! Time to hold myself accountable!

My Goals:
Goals:
1. Learn to be ok with eating a lot less. Mostly non-veg carbs.
2. Moderate wine. No more than 2 glasses - 3-4 days a week.
3. Get to the gym 2-3x/week, tennis 2-3x/wk, hike or cycle 1x/wk. Push-up challenge.
4. Train for Rugged Maniac!
5. Return to 140 lbs and stay there!


My Program:
I am reducing portion sizes, reducing carbs, reducing wine intake and continuing my active lifestyle.
Update Jan 2013... Since my wedding in Nov 2011, I have gained 11 lbs back! Yikes! It was sooo hard to lose it. I'm not sure I can do it again! But I will keep trying.
April 22, 2013: Day One of going Gluten Free for 30 days... see how I feel and if I lose any fat!
June 2013: Gluten free didn't do anything. On to low carb...
August 2016 - Menopause has hit me hard. Gained 15 lbs and body has changed. Need to be the best I can be! Goals above!

    Karen, Out of Africa has been around about 30 years, though the first 7 were some other location (I don't know if it was AZ, close by same location or what). I also was surprised it was there, we first learned about it from the signs when we went to Prescott (we are touring the state slowly to see everything). It is actually up at Camp Verde, close to Prescott. You need 4-5 hours to see it (we spent 4), and could easily spend more. VIP tour would be great if you wanted to spend the money, we just did the Unimog tour - $20 a person and well worth it. We had about an hour with only 2 couples (they can hold 4-6 couples in one unimog). The VIP is 2 hours, with a full hour in the "Serengeti" area. There is also a Safari bus - the web page said free but it is $8, it was packed (30 people maybe in a regular bus), it was shorter, so I don't know if they got to feed the giraffe (and camel if he cooperates) themselves - I bet not. And I think they spend less time and/or see less things. The unimog was definitely worth it, for nothing else that you could feed the giraffe. Oh, they also have a zip line, again pricy, but it takes 3 hours so I am guessing part of that is being up on the towers while they discuss what you see (cause you could zip it all within an hour easily even with group). The guides have TONS of info in the creatures in general as well as the ones they have.
