I used to be the skinny much so that my nickname was Q-tip. I could eat anything I wanted and it seemed to evaporate. Fast forward a few years, replace the bike with a car, subtract most my free time, add a husband and the discovery of chicken fried steak. I steadily crept up to obesity.

Since recommitting to my health I am following Tim Ferriss' 4 Hour Body Slow Carb Diet (vegetarian version) and I've lost 30 of the 40 pounds that I need to lose. My cholesterol is down. I have finished a half marathon (the knees still say no to running).

I still have more weight to lose, but I am happy with the progress I've made and appreciate the resources here that help me do it.

My Goals:
1. Reduce weight to 145 lbs. before the end of the world.

2. Maintain cholesterol at 238 using diet alone.

3. Recover from serious financial setbacks of the past two-three years.

4. The fourth one is just for me!

My Program:
1. 4 Hour Body Slow Carb Diet (vegetarian).

2. Exercise: treadmill walking, spark videos and yoga.

3.. First, I am starting with what I CAN control. I am becoming better organized and eliminating "stupid stress" from my life. (I really like that phrase).

4. I am doing more leisure reading and writing in my journal. I burned out on reading for pleasure when I finished my last year of college. I miss it.

Personal Information:
I grew up in Santa Cruz, California, lived in eastern Nebraska for a while, and came back to California in 2000. Now I live in rural Monterey County.
