My name is Ilaria. I have 2 cats who are my world. Cheslie is part Maine coon, and Iris is a white cat of unknown decendants. We live on my parents property in a tiny house that was a chicken coop. It's perfect for us. I am a CNA doing in-home care. I love my job, and that I get to help and make a difference. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and have been living with it for about 10 years. My relationship has been to take care of it off and on, but I haven't gotten serious about taking care of my health until recently. Because of my inattention and lack of insurance I now have stage 2 kidney disease. A trip to an endocrinologist has started me on my journey to better health. So, with Italian stubborness, a bee in my bonnet I am accepting that even though I am fat, love myself, and think I am pretty being a smaller version of me wouldn't be so bad. I wouldn't spend so much on clothes, eating out and could save it for more important things. I started out at 245 and have given myself a year to lose 125 pounds. It's doable, I'm just taking it slow and steady and following what my doctors' advice is. I'm reveling in the small goal I reach and rewarding myself for them. One being pedicures every 10 pounds. My fears are I will have all this loose skin and no boobs, but it's not enough to stop me. I believe that if you really want something bad enough you will do everything in your power to get it. I'm so grateful to have the help and support of everyone here. We can all do it, with a lot of hard work, and no luck or pixie dust.
