I am participating in the Summer 5% Challenge on the Cloverleaf Team.

My commitment to exercise is to get 10,000 steps a day (4.5 miles), or a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise including walking, gardening, strength training for my arms and stretching.

My nutrition plan has been a combination of NoS* and SparkPeople's Food Tracker (1,500 calories day). However, I'm coming around to more intuitive eating and I'm enjoying the freedom it allows me. Better yet ... I am FINALLY losing some weight!

* No-S Diet: No Sweets, No Snacks, No Seconds, Except (Sometimes) on Saturdays, Sundays and Special Days.

My Goals:
Exercise is NOT a problem for me. Food is where I have problems. I strive to have control over my eating habits with moderation and consistency. Stress and sugar are triggers for me. I have a bad habit of mindless snacking that I am working hard to conquer. Intuitive eating taught by Cookie Rosenblum is making a difference for me as I am finally starting to see success.

Long Range Goal: 150 lbs. so clothes fit properly and can bend and move without struggle

Medium Range Goal: Lose 1/2 pound per week
Reward: New Magazine

Daily Goal: Count (up) days of HONEST and ACCURATE food tracking
Daily Reward: Sticker on the calendar

My Program:
No-S guidelines EVERYDAY (not just weekdays). But learning to be more of an intuitive eater. (I guess you could say I'm in transition) Participating in 5% Challenges and In-Between Challenges.
Minimum 30 minutes exercise, 10,000 steps a day, arm exercises, stretching and 12 glasses of water daily. Staying in my calorie range with healthy, fresh, whole, and natural foods (not processed). Accurate tracking and NO SNACKING!!!

Personal Information:
Retired kindergarten teacher. Love flower gardening, cooking and music (learning to play piano). Getting out for my daily walks is a joy in the sunshine. Not so much joy in cold weather. (Those of you that live in colder climates give me inspiration!) Three grandkids nearby, so they are here often. Those are times I find it hard to stay on track, due to mindless snacking.
