Apparently I first tried Spark People back in 2013. Obviously I did not do much. I used to spend most of my time in the Spark Recipes which is not a bad thing. I made many of the delicious meals for myself and my husband. I was loosing weight until I had a hernia repair. My exercise consisted of my job. I was a computer tech for University Hospitals of Cleveland. I was the sole tech for Seidman Cancer center and 7 other buildings on the campus. Talk about a lot of walking !! The weight stated to come off again.....then 2015 came about and so did my broken hip. I could not do any weight bearing for 3 months. Since I was not cleared for work, I stayed at home in my recliner reading a copious amounts of library books. Once back to work I was not able to get the weight off. I am a severe asthmatic and have degenerative osteoarthritis in my lower spine. So, for now my exercise is walking.
I have had three careers in my life, 22 years of being a Registered Nurse in Critical Care Units, 10 years in retail, and 6 years as a computer tech.
I am married 13 years to my current husband. I have three grown children and my husband has a grown son, Together we have 4 grandchildren with one on the way.

Update 3/29/19

All is not lost that I lost my Silver Sneakers at the beginning of the year. I did some research. Found that the Y would cost me $22.00/month. Ha....not in my budget. So, I went to my community senior center. I joined for $5.00/year. I get to do free exercise classes three days a week and Senior Zumba one day a week. In addition, I get to use the exercise room for free. I'm loving it !!!!

    Thanks for reading my blog. I can understand your fear about your weight issues. I have had the same myself.

    My suggestion to you is to take a deep breath and realize that you do not have to deal with all of the issues at one time. Try to make one small change at a time. Just concentrate on picking one thing to change that you feel you can. Perhaps try to eat more vegetables, not a set amount of vegetables, just more than you are eating now. Pick something you like, or something that you don't hate, and begin adding that to your diet.

    You can't do it all at once, it is too overwhelming. Perhaps you can increase the amount of water you drink. If you drink about 1 glass a day, try for two.

    I know that that is the only thing that has ever worked for me in the past. That is what I am trying to do now.

    It is trial and error, just like the rest of life, and you can make one small change at a time.

    Do your best, and call it enough. We can do what we can do, just for today.
