Finding my bliss again.

One of my key mantras yet again. Exercise is still the best medicine.

This is a concept I need to apply regularly.

June 17, 2021 Two days until the 2021 Summer 5% Challenge
I'm posting my new fitness plan and nutrition goals below.

June 3, 2021 Update:
I lost and regained two pounds during the 2021 Spring Challenge. But the NSVs are just as important. I'm losing inches and seeing more toned legs and arms. Daily Essentrics (Classical Stretch) is making a big difference.

March 6, 2021 Update:

I just finished the 2021 Winter 5% Weight Loss Challenge with a 2.5 pound loss. Yeah!

January 2, 2021

In one week, on January 9, the 2021 Winter 5% Weight Loss Challenge begins. My interim goal was to start at or below my ending weight from the last challenge, and I'm happy to say I'll be able to do that, provided I don't indulge in anymore unexpected ice cream purchases. What was I thinking?

Fitness Minutes: 69,617

My Goals:
I want to stay healthy, mobile, and lean for the rest of my life.
I'd like to follow "The Younger Next Year" advice including 60 minutes of exercise 6 days a week for the rest of my life.
Return to the healthy weight I maintained in my 40s, now that I've hit my 60s.
Continue to run/walk, and exercise with intensity.

My Program:
June 17, 2021
What is your exercise plan?
1. Jog outdoors at least three times a week.
2. Run 4X4 intervals on a treadmill or at the local high school track.
3. Swim for cross-training at least one time each week.
4. Continue the Classical Stretch/Essentrics videos or TV workouts daily.
5. Sign up for a race in the fall or winter and choose a training plan.

Nutrition Goals:
1. Make a conscious effort to increase water intake, 5-6 cups; 8 cups is not realistic for me.
2. Reduce alcohol consumption.
3. Monitor trigger foods closely.
4. Eat a Mediterranean diet as much as possible.

Accountability Goals:
1. Weigh-in weekly, Saturdays for the 2021 Summer 5% Challenge.
2. Post exercise, LTGL goals every day.

Personal Information:
My DH and I are retired. Both of us were reared on family farms, so we love open space and quiet whenever possible. We are able to travel between those two farms, as well as to winter in the Southwest for health reasons.

Other Information:
I love baking, cooking, and eating. So aside from a sweet tooth, I cook from scratch and have a relatively healthful diet. I enjoy sewing, knitting, reading, and gardening when on the farm. As a person on faith, I believe it's important to care for ourselves, others, and our planet.

Cloverleaf Creamery sounds mouthwatering. We’re still doing mangoes: plain, smoothies, dump cake, mango cake, mango shortcake, and mango popsicles. I’m having an R&R day too. I made breakfast for dinner, attempting to duplicate a delicious omelette with cream cheese from brunch out with my sister. Mine turned out pretty good, but not as good. I took a nap and read an autobiography on Kindle Unlimited that you might enjoy. Harvest of Years: My Story 1886 and Onward by Iva Wilson covers lots of history and stories in Iowa, the Dakotas, and Idaho. Ladies of that time had to be tough stuff.

Apricots are yummy too; hope you get a second chance at some. I will not miss SP’s stupid looking fruit and vegetable emoji. Some of them look downright ill.

🥭 🥭 🥭 Have some mangoes. Tree #2 is hard at it. Husband had to laugh at a disappointed squirrel last night. The squirrel had just gotten hold of a nicely ripe fruit when it fell to the ground at husband’s feet. There’s still plenty for both squirrels and humans.

Thanks, got your friend add. What do you think of MFP? I’m willing to give it a try and am doing my tracking there.

It’s been too hot, too humid, and too rainy to do any line drying here. I’d happily send some rain in your direction. emoticon I signed up on MyFitnessPal last night. I’m still SABLENESS.
