June 20, 2020 - Happy Summer! Wow, where has the time gone?
I do stay linked to SP on emails, FB, and updates, but haven't actively signed in for 3 years. Wow!
I had reached my goal of losing 50lbs with Medifast. Went on maintenance and slowly creeped back up the scale. Two years later and experiencing my brother's battle with lung cancer kill him over the past year was too much, and I gained 40lbs back.
A lot of firsts without him; Thanksgiving, Christmas, New years, birthdays, Mother's Day, and Memorial Day weekend.Now; July 4th weekend, Labor Day weekend, and soon his wedding anniversary, birthday, and the one year anniversary of his death.
All on top of the worse year at work we have ever experienced, followed by COVID19. It is all I can do just to get out of bed in the morning, just hoping that today will be better than yesterday.
I love the friendships and support I have experienced on SP over the past 8 years and look forward to connecting with old and new SP friends again.
I am back with Medifast for the accountability and in-body assessments to gain perspective and reinforce my efforts to remain as healthy as possible for as long as possible.
My goals have not changed much for food and activity, but now need to regain routine and focus, especially during these stressful times.
Here's to praying for some sense of peace by the end of 2020, followed by a less stressful 2021.

July 3, 2017 - At the Lake!
So, my Happy New Year Plan didn't get off to a good start.
I think I even gained a few MORE pounds in my efforts to lose.
So, I joined Medifast. I need the face-to-face accountability, as well as more structure, and counseling. Its not just, follow these plans and actions that we give everyone; it is what-about-Pam that works/doesn't work. I find it refreshing.
I've been able to follow my Medifast Plan for almost 2 months. Have lost 14lbs. Really feeling great! Not bored, and not feeling like there is something missing. It does help that it is Summer and my dog has gotten into the routine of walking after dinner. So much so if I'm not moving after my plate is in the sink, he is in front of me grunting. He is adorable!

Today is Friday, December 30, 2016.
Like most people, I consider the New Year a good time to reflect and make new starts. I have let 2016 get away from me wrapped up in major projects and moves at work. And also a personal move in order to be closer to work, and lessen the commute that was really starting to get difficult.
I have not updated this page since July 2015! I let a year pass between the update before that. How time flies when you're having fun, so they say.
After 5-1/2 years on SparkPeople, my goals have not changed.
I am still looking to lose 50lbs.
I am still trying to reach (that just out of reach) One-derland.
I am still trying to maintain my blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
This is a never-ending ride/roller-coaster.
Now that menopause has kicked in full tilt, I am finding myself even more out of control than ever before. And aches and pains can no longer go ignored or "pushed through."
But, the positive changes include:
Daily commute decreased from 90 minutes to 15 minutes, is helping my physical pains and disposition. And time for breakfast.
Free gym equipment at work. We even have a treadmill desk that we share. I don't have to sit at a desk all day, and still get work done.
Food choices limited at work requiring planned packed lunches.
I am truly enjoying the simple plans to move into healthier living.

My Goals:
Set new streaks for 2020
1. 100oz of water every day!!
2. Log onto SP for tracking and journaling.
3. 30 min minimum of activity each day.
4. 45 min minimum of activity each day, after 4 months.
5. 10 min minimum of "me" time every day.
Weight loss goals include:
Shoot for 2.0lbs loss/week.
10% weight loss in 2 months.
50lbs loss in 12 months.

My Program:
Take advantage of good weather to get outside and add to the fitness plan.
Committing to my new goals.
Asking for help (SP Friends or family) when I need it.

Personal Information:
Minneapolis, MN girl with two grown children and a 8-year-old Yorkie. My darling husband is very supportive, but is currently experiencing his own weight gain. We are both planning better meals together as well as what we pack for lunch.

Other Information:
I have now been a SP member for over 8 years! I have accomplished so much, and look forward to accomplishing so much more. Highlights: New job in new location; completed three 5ks, gained 23lbs. Goals for the immediate future: to lose 10lbs, gain strength and make hitting the gym every day at work a habit.
