*My SP featured blog: Oct. 15/20 One day became 6 months ...
*My SP featured blog: Dec. 2/20 Do you have a voice?
*My SP featured blog: Apr. 17/21 365 days of SP - Summary
Thank you for reading and liking.

April 2021 - This month will be one full year of daily SP involvement. Woo hoo! No regrets!

*** My 2020 journey:
I'm reclaiming my life - in more ways than one. I'm establishing new goals, experiences and friendships. It is time for me to be happy. I now know that I am in control of MY destiny and it is up to me to shape it the way I want. Let the journey begin!

April 16, 2020 - back at square one. Never give up! Weight: 214.

May 2020. I took a break from SP, gained weight, stopped regularly exercising and deleted all my posts, pictures, SP teams and more. So many things to regret! Now a month back in, ten pounds off my body, and improved fitness and health. Thank you willpower and SP.

June 2020. I am down 20 pounds and feel great! Researching diet study evidence by Dr. Jason Fung is sure an eye opener. Carbs, not fat, is what has caused the obesity epidemic. Diabetics taking insulin gain weight! Who knew! They don't tell you that. I am avoiding a family history of diabetes by taking charge now, reducing carbs to between 30-40%, not 50%. I don't need to do extreme KETO as my body can handle carbs, for now.

July 2020. 30 pounds less! Look at my photo for before and after. Chubby cheeks - gone! Wrote a blog of how this came to be. I’m a happy lady.

August 2020 - 40 lbs gone. I can hardly believe it is this easy. (Only easy with 100% commitment.)

September 2020 - 50 lbs gone. I made my goal! IF works for me! Adjustment #3 - lose ten more.

October 2020 - Met my third goal - 60 lbs! I’m loving my new SP friends, teams, challenges and encouragements. Coming here is my daily “must do.”

November 2020 - already learning that maintenance is not easy! I will keep Sparking, with your help! I love the maintenance ticker - set to 149 - with a little wiggle room.

December 2020 - my new goal is in sight! Daily exercise, food tracking, reduced processed foods (& carbs) and intermittent fasting is my magic trick combo for weight loss. But really, it’s not a trick.

January 2021 - I’m doing my third 5% Challenge. I think I’m very close to a healthy maintenance weight. I’ve managed to undo the holiday weight gain. It takes complete focus! I reached my 65 lb. weight loss mark. I never would have thought I was that much overweight.

February 2021 - I turn 63 this month, and I feel healthier than I have been in decades - since before children! My happy weight seems to sit around 150 and I am SO okay with that. What a great feeling, knowing I have control over my health and weight.

March 2021 - I took three weeks off from strict tracking, etc. and we all know how that goes! I just needed a break ... 10 pounds later! The strategy that works for me - SP tracking (1200 - 1500 calories) and IF. I also reset my goal back up to 149 - but realistically, I think 154 is a better goal.

Thanks for the Goodie and the words of support.
At this stage in my life it's more likely to be a tankini.
Our YMCA indoor pool is open so the outdoor pools will likely open as well at least as long as the Covid numbers remain low. I worry about the resistance to vaccination however.

Thank you for reading my blog “Remember When Exercise was Fun”
It was because I couldn't swim that I insisted my kids become excellent swimmers.
DD (Hayburner1969) was the most resistant. 2 summers in the baby pool class.
DD: How long will you keep bringing me here? (to the lessons)
    Me: Until you are 18.
She passed all the way through Junior LIfesaving by age 9 LOL
I learned to swim at age 28. Must model the right behavior for the kids.

Thank you for your support. I am sometimes concerned that some of us who blog once or twice a week and gather just enough support to be featured are somehow lumped in with complaints about those "featured every day." Only after being featured, is there an increase in the comments so it only looks like we have a lot of followers. At least 3 of us up there have been in the forefront of trying to increase the number of voices heard by commenting and sharing the blogs of others.
However, I do wonder if after lending support and encouragement over and over to someone who never comments on my blogs, if perhaps they do NOT want to make a connection? Is it a hint I should stop?
I also make it a point never to click "like" for some very personal situations. Family troubles for example need not be shared with the whole world. Those blogs I share privately with others who I know will discreetly offer their support along with mine.
