I am 38 years old and I have been married for 15 years. I am a dance instructor and I also teach Pilates.

In 2009, I embarked on a journey to lose 40 pounds. I wish I had known about Spark People then. I managed to lose the weight on my own in 2 years. At the end of the journey, I found Spark People and joined in hopes of maintaining. I was put on fertility medicine in 2013 and gained 40 pounds in 6 months. In my efforts to lose that weight, I cut way back on calories. And when the weight still wouldn't come off, I cut back on calories some more. I then found out I was way under-eating, putting my body into starvation mode and this was why the weight wasn't coming off. So I slowly increased my calories and gained another 30 pounds in 7 months. Finally the weight started coming off, and I lost 20 pounds in 3 months.

But then I started having severe abdominal pain and wasn't able to eat much. I found out in 2018 I had developed food allergies to pork, peanuts, soy, lettuce, onions, and cabbage. My weight has bounced around since. The adjustment to cutting out the food I'm allergic to has been especially difficult. Soy has been particularly hard because it is in so many things.

Then, early in 2020, I had my gall bladder removed. That threw me for a loop. My energy levels plummeted, and I was unable to eat much fat, even the healthy ones. Due to this, I gained another 15 pounds.

So, now I would like to lose 100 pounds, to get back to where I was in 2010. I'm feeling exceptionally discouraged at this point in my journey. It seems no matter what I do, I either do it wrong, or something comes along and throws me off course.

Since I i know losing that much weight in a year would be incredibly difficult, and probably not the best way to lose the weight, I'm focusing on healthy habits. Read my blogs for more.

My Goals:
I would like to finally reach 140 pounds (again!) and keep it off this time.
I would like to tone up.
I would like to heal my digestive issues.

My Program:
Nutrition: No foods I'm allergic to. Cut way back on sugar. I like to try to make little changes one at a time until they become a habit. This is so much easier than complete overhaul of my lifestyle.

Exercise: My hope is to walk and do Pilates six days a week, plus give myself a dance class 4 days a week (Monday - ballet, Tuesday - jazz, Wednesday - modern / contemporary, Thursday - tap) until I feel well enough to look for a job. The job(s) will be active - teaching dance and Pilates - so this will replace giving myself class 4 days a week.

Personal Information:
I am originally from Huntsville, AL, but I currently live in the Greenville area of South Carolina. I have a degree in Dance and I'm also a certified Pilates instructor. I'm a Christian who loves God with all of her heart. I've been married 14 years and my husband is the love of my life.

Other Information:
I love the color teal or just about any other blue-green color.
I love white roses.
Chocolate is my weakness.

    Probably why i hate winter so much is thati worked outside all day rsin or shin cold or hot testing truck drivers and it is 25 below and they cant figure out what to tell me and im freezing my a$$ off ! So glad i dont have to deal with it anymore!

    About me today:
    emoticon 6-17-21 THX for the good wishes for my DH B'day emoticon & eye exam. emoticon We canceled his party for tonight. He needs to heal. He's ok, just being careful, what an ordeal, especially in the heat! The temps are over the moon! 119 today! I couldn't even get out to walk before heat. It went DOWN to 90 last night, yuck! emoticon Praying for rain! emoticon I still love SP land & you! emoticon Yes! I'm savoring each day, too! emoticon

    my house originally was just a simmer home. I supplied water to the 5 houses around me. I added insulation to walls when I renovated by adding insulation before putting new dry wall up.
    also new windows helped a lot. just one of the things you just learn to deal with my house was built in 1933 before insulation was even invented! years ago they put crumpled newspaper

    my son put my fan in for me. My house id old so there is not much insulation in the walls. therefore much cooler in winter and hotter in summer. I have put in insulation where it could be gotten to and added it when I put new dry wall up, but still could use more,if I ever put new siding up will add to all outside walls
