Started this journey in my mid-30's after many years of focusing on other areas of my life to detriment of my health. I finally got tired of being tired and dissatisfied with my weight and appearance.

I made the changes, started getting at 4:30am to workout and fastidiously monitoring my intake. And, for the first time, I saw results, great results. Over a span of 3 years, I lost 115lbs and kept it off during many plateaus. Then the most devastating thing I could imagine happened, my mom passed away. I fell into a depression and while I went through the motions, I had no motivation. I worked out but I wasn't into it. I eat well but if it took too much effort, I didn't. I couldn't get myself out of the funk or get my mind back into the space I needed to be to continue my road to success.

Between March 2016 and December 2017, I gained almost 50 lbs. I took some time during the holidays in 2017 to really re-focus myself and commit to getting back on track. I am 3 weeks in being back on track and down 10lbs. I am recommitting to myself to get back to where I left off in 2016 and proceeds to my goal. The regain has humbled me, it made me realize that I will never be the person who can afford to not be hyper-vigilant. I will also need to be on guard if I want to achieve my goal and maintain it.

My Program:
Working out 6 days per week for at least 60 minutes. I'm doing it at home for now because it's hard to get to the gym on my schedule. Right now Jillian Micheals is my trainer of choice. I also use a stationary bike at home for an average of 30 mins per day.

Update 6/2013- I've hired a
personal trainer to help me with strength training 2x weekly.

As for food, I am counting calories and restricting myself to 1400-1500 per day and trying the low-carb way of eating.
