Today - my driver's license weight is correct!

Sunday, August 23, 2009

I am such an ostrich. I was so tired of the lack of demonstrable success in over a month that I decided to weigh in just once a month - on my SP anniversary.

However today, I just HAD to peek to see how things were going.
Since I have 2 uninterrupted weeks before my next big trip for work, so decided to take advantage of the situation and do South Beach Weeks 1 & 2. I have had decent success in the past and just needed to jump start my body and sooth my tattered ego.

So, after the first 6 days I had to peek....how pleased I am this morning to see progress - and that some of my mini-goals are behind me:
1) I have now lost 11# which is over 20% of my SP weight loss goal!
2) Today, my driver's license weight is correct! And I fully expect my driver's license weight to be incorrect again in the next few days...just on the other side of the posted #.

My 3 month SP anniversary is coming up. I've watched my team members post frustrations and successes. I am convinced that ALL successes are remarkable, because they are each someone's personal success...it is all that matters. This is not a race (that is my new mantra). Every step taken, ounce or pound lost, or positive thought is more than we can say we did before.

So...sticking my head back in the ostrich hole...see you in a week!

I have 1.5 pounds to lose before I reach my stated weight. I was REALLY heavy when I renewed my license 2 years ago. Next time, I'll be able to be honest when I complete the renewal application!

Hafta laugh.... so many comments on my blog in such a short time.... emoticon

Every 5 years when I'd have te renew my license I'd have the "come toJesus" talk with myself - am I going to lose it, or should I just fess up and raise the weight so it is a little more accurate? Being my parents' daughter.....it was expected that I'd "tell the truth". So the driver's license weight went up...lagging behind my actual weigh gain only because of the 5 year renewal period.

I can't "weight" for the next renewal...

Thanks everyone for reading and commenting.....

Yay! had to giggle about SP helping you comply with your driver's licence weight -- and check my OWN driver's licence to see if my weight is accurate.

Lo and behold, had never noticed but Ontario driver's licence just requires height now and not weight --

So what does that say about our government's trust in the honesty of its drivers to report their weight reliably?? O Canada!!

    Well done, that's great!

(And I am VERY glad that driving licences in this country don't have a person's weight on them!)

I loved your blog and I really liked the idea of making my drivers license weight a goal. I am always looking for something new to kick me in the behind and get me going again and I think I found it when I read your blog. Thanks for the idea. emoticon
