I Tried to Prepare You...

Friday, November 06, 2009

I posted this for my Green Squad yesterday. Our team, like many, had a tough week last week with sickness, injuries, "life" stuff. One of my teammates suggested that I needed to post it so everyone could read it. Just substitute the appropriate color, team and/or name to fit - lol.

Ok, my Green Team. I tried to prepare you for week 4 and the rest of this battle. I know it's hard. I know it's depressing when the emoticon goes the wrong way. I hate it when trainers cancel and health issues beat our team down last week. emoticon

But you know what, we all have got to pull ourselves up by our "Bra Straps" and perk up. emoticon We are at a crossroads in this battle. We can succumb to all the life issues that are bombarding us emoticon or we can make the choice, and it is definitely a choice, to suck it up and battle to the end. emoticon

You can choose to be emoticon or you can choose to be emoticon. You can choose to do your workouts emoticon or choose not to do them. You can choose to eat right or choose to shoot yourself in the foot and go for the 3rd left over Halloween candy bar that you knew you were going to eat when you bought it. emoticon

But you know what, you have got to be prepared to live with the consequences of your choices...good and bad. That's a fact. emoticon emoticon

I also know that some times you will do every thing right and gain a pound. But if you know that you are doing everything to the best of your ability then you have no reason to be discouraged. Be proud in the fact that you know you are doing what you are suppose to be. emoticon

We can choose to motivate each other or not. I love this team and realize we had a tough week, but shake it off and let's be positive.

Positive attitudes get positive results. Negative attitudes drag us down. I've chosen...what choice are you going to make for the rest of the week and this battle. emoticon

Let's get those "bra straps" hoisted up and get this Green Bod Squad back on the fast track. What do you say!!!! emoticon emoticon

Very nice. You're right about the candy. I'm giving my kids another week to pick the good stuff out of their candy, then it's going in the garbage. I don't need the temptation, and soon they're eating it just because there is some left, not because they actually really like any of it.

I try to remind myself that they may be upset with me for a little while now, but they'll be a lot more upset when they're older if I don't help them develop healthy habits while they're young.

That's why I don't buy candy, Pam! (I only eat it when somebody brings it in to the office!)

But no kidding, what a generous, inspirational posting for all to see. If we got to vote for Warrior of the week, yolu know you would get my vote, Warrior/Sister.

Great blog, a real motivator! Now I need to march(ok, limp) myself to the kitchen and fix a good dinner! I can do this!

What if i don't wear a Bra??? emoticon emoticon
Ok..let's get serious...all the things you described..so true!! Especially about the "bought candy" you buy it...and most likely..for sure..it will end up in your body..and go straight to your hips..at least for most of us..there are some people who can actually say "No" to Temptation...
Pam i like your Blog a lot..it's like a swift "kick in the Behind" an eye opener for some of us who may have become Battle weary...there are really only 2 choices..keep on walking on the healthy-i-am-feeling-really-good-Tr
    ack..or take that old aaaah-i-feel-so-unmotivated and don't-wanna -exercise-don't-have -time-am-too-busy-to-eat-right-and exercise-easy way out!!
Guess what..it is very easy to just give up..but who wants to go back to the way we once were?? I know i don't!!!!!
emoticon for reminding us to keep on battling!! emoticon emoticon
