I'm ROARING with gratitude today!!

Wednesday, March 09, 2011

Top o the mornin' to ya! (that's said in an Irish brogh in case you can't tell LOL) I'm in a ROARING good mood this morning - my scale is still at 152!! Now since it first GOT to 152 last Friday and stayed there Saturday and Sunday, you may wonder why I'm ao happy with that number?? Its because it said 152.2 on Monday and 153 on Tuesday!! That had me worried - but (having recognized at least a part of the problem) I ate an extra lot of fiber yesterday, got my digestive system working properly again emoticon and was back to 152 this morning (in fact the 'balance' scale almost touched bottom at 152 but went back up at 151.75 - but I'm getting there!!) Oh yeah - another reason 152 makes me so happy is that its the LOWEST number I've had on my scale in almost 20 years!!

Another thing is that has me smiling is that although the scale said 153 yesterday I could look back at my food log and KNOW that I couldn't possibly have gained 'real' (as opposed to water) weight , even though I didn't do as much exercise as usual on Sunday or Monday. Without the food log I'd have been worried that I ate more than I remembered, have known I did less exercise (I logged miles even before SP), and thought I COULD have really gained. That food log is valuable in so many ways - if you aren't using it faithfully I'd really encourage you to try it for at least a month (long enough for it to become a habit.) It takes a little time to enter your favorite recipes (that you can't find a similar one to already entered) but it is so worth it - once they are in and you've pulled them into your 'favorites' its easy to enter your food every day. That's my personal plug for the nutrition tracker)!

Since we are expecting heavy storms any minute now (the winds are already whipping) I'm going to have breakfast then get to my organizing project. Who knew a weight loss challenge would get me off my butt and into organizing and purging that I've been putting off for 2-1/2 years? (That's when we moved to our current 'retirement' home from a larger home in the city). But that's just what happened!!

And since I'm making plugs today I'll make another one - this for the BLC16 challenge which will begin taking sign ups very soon. I joined the BLC15 which began on Jan. 5 (we are done with nine weeks of it) and I can't sing its praises loud enough. I've learned that I will work HARDER to earn points for my team than I would have worked on my own - and I'm really seeing a difference in my body!! I lost 3 inches during the first 6 weeks of the challenge and I'm pretty sure when I take my measurements at the end of the challenge I'll have lost more (because my clothes are definitely fitting better!!)

I'm off to have breakfast. Have a ROARING GOOD DAY today (my BLC team is the Roaring Red Rocketeers, in case you are wondering!) If you aren't feeling at the top of your game, stop RIGHT NOW and list at least 5 ways in which you are blessed! Sparkpeople makes my top 5 list every time! And since you are reading this blog you've obviously found it too - so be grateful!! TTFN!!

My scale bobs up and down all the time. I love it when I reach a new lower number.
